I Love UnionBank!

If you read my other blog, you know how I hated Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Family Bank some time back because of their inefficiency with remittance. I was with Metrobank (my mom’s account) for several months after the horrible BPI episode, but as much as I find them reliable, I was looking for something more. Since I work online and PayPal is my main mode of receiving payments, I needed a credit card or at least a debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo in it to verify my account at PayPal. I have neither, and my mom’s account with Metrobank is only for savings.

I realized the only thing for me to do is open an account for myself. I looked around for potential banks that can help me verify my PayPal account, and one name stood out: UnionBank with their EON Cyber Account made especially for those who work online. I’ve never banked with anyone but UnionBank since then. They have the friendliest tellers in Baguio, the most reasonable fees (only a Php350 annual fee and NOTHING more. ABSOLUTELY NO HIDDEN CHARGES), I am ONLY charged Php50 for every PayPal withdrawal under Php7,000 (anything above that amount is FREE of charge) AND their EON card doesn’t require a minimum maintaining balance. I can also make a balance inquiry online for FREE (I just need to log-in to my CyberAccount), and send money bank to bank WITHOUT any fee.

Is it any wonder now why I love UnionBank?

  1. afforadable lang sya marce..only 350 annual fee..I’m not now familiar with banking procedures jan sa atin. Good to hear that you have now a bank that you love :smile2: nabasa ko kasi yong BPI story mo…he..he…

  2. in here naman marce ang dali lang din mag-open. with only 500 baht meron na akong debit card for less than an hour and minimum maintaining balance is 100. with paypal’s transaction, everything becomes convenient to us

Postal or NBI clearance na lng tlga ang better optioN!

    2. matagal talaga kumuha ng sss id marce although mas maganda sana kung yun ang kunin mo. nwei, i agree with the ladies, nbi clearance na lang kunin mo. gudlack!

  4. My unionbank. I changed my pin sometime last week sa UNIONbank ATM. And then, when I tried to log-in in my Cyber Account, I was surprised at di ko ma-open. I clearly remembered the new PIN. I tried for ATM transaction this morning using old and new PIN, pero, the same message appeared. Wrong pin! bakit kaya?? anyways, I’ll visit the bank tomorrow. love mo? love ko pa din. :inlove:

  7. That’s good. At least it is very easy to open accounts there in the Philippines. I have a funny feeling na uuwi ako ng Pinas only to open an account kasi di ko ma-withdraw yung Paypal funds ko dito. Napaka-strict ng banks here…grabe. Masubukan nga sa Union Bank. I’ll check out the site.

My officemate also uses EON.

  10. dito rin sa germany or even in japan, it is very easy to open an account. you don’t even need to deposit anything! ang bilis pa. after a few minutes, meron na agad ako atm in japan. in germany naman, automatic na meron ako credit card. galing ano?

  11. Hi Mommy Kaye! My first time to comment in your blog. 🙂 I work with another bank and in terms of deposits, UBP is breaking grounds. my husband’s account and our car loan is there and no hassles so far 🙂

  12. this post is very helpful K. BPI tellers are rude. I opened an account for my daughter at BPI and haven’t gone there for a while because most of the people who works there are so grumpy. 0.o

  13. uu nga kainis ang BPI if d registered ang naccount and if nde BPI nde k pede transfer kaya bago ko umalis ni reg ko lahat ng BOI account ng kamag anak ko ahahahha and ng mama ko to make sure madali lang mag transfer ng money 😀
