For some women, being a June bride is a dream come true. Why that particular month? June is named after Juno, the goddess of love, who was also believed to be the protector of married life, so traditionally, Romans prefer marrying that month because of the belief that the union will be blessed by the goddess if it happened in the month that was named after her. This tradition continues up to now. Particularities in dates aside, there are also a lot of beliefs in the accessories used during and after the wedding ceremony that is still practiced up to now. Accessories in particular are engagement rings and wedding bands.
The never-ending circle of these two accessories symbolize eternal love and commitment, which is what all married couple aim for. Gold and silver, which is what most wedding bands are made of, rooted from the Romans’ love of precious metals. Which is why a marriage ceremonies around the world is most likely bound with a ring. Since a ring is expected to be worn till the end of time by couples, it is important that it is of high quality. But what with the economy today, many people are looking for affordable rings.
Does getting married in June guarantee a happily ever after? Some of high-profile marriages that happened in June are no more, like Heather Mills & Paul McCartney, who tied the knot on June 11, 2002, but divorced (rather disastrously) some years later. So it boils down to the partners willingness to make the marriage work, and the month you were made as one does not really matter.
