Better Prepared Than Sorry

If there is anything I learned within the confines of the educational institution, it is the importance of being prepared for anything. As a student, the thing that one needs to be prepared for the most are examinations, whether minor or major. My college entrance examination results was a laugh compared to usual standards, mainly because the mathematics question are one too many. The test was certainly not lsat prep standard. No, not nearly as intensive as that, but if I were Superman, then math is my Kryptonite.

I should have prepared better for the questions I know I will find difficult, but I was fresh off a 20 students per class college back then, and I was riding on my always-on-top-of-the-class status. Silly, I know, but that’s youth arrogance for you. The results are not that bad, really, it’s just below what I normally get in exams.

My ego took a beating when I received the results, even if the girl in the university office who handed it to me commented about my score being higher than average. Yeah, but not on my average it isn’t. I immediately put that behind me, and thankfully, I was able to redeem myself by being on the dean’s list on almost all semesters on that school.

But then again, an important lesson learned: do not be too sure of yourself when it comes to tests. Especially one as huge as LSAT. If you have to take prep courses then so be it, if only to be assured of getting a score that you will be proud to show off to your friends and relatives.
