Relativity

My relatives (as well as Paulie’s) are a crazy lot (it’s painfully obvious where I got my state of mind from). They’re noisy, funny, infuriating, nosy, caring and more, all rolled up into one neat messy package. Sometimes I don’t want anything to do with them, sometimes I miss their presence so much. I guess families are always like that. But you know, in the end, a family is a family is a family still. You can’t chose them nor get rid of them, so it’s either you put up with their craziness or go crazy yourself. Me and Paulie, we seem to be doing fine on both sides of the family right now. In the early days there was a lot of drama when we became a couple, but everything’s fine now. Well, as much as our family can be fine, that is.

Paulie’s dad just got home from a month stint on Kuwait (he’s a former PSG, that old guy) and as much as Paulie sometimes hate his dad’s gut, I know he secretly said a prayer of thanks when his dad got home safe without the need for an injury lawyer. He’s even excited to go home, but I told him we should wait until December since I still have tons of projects to do. I know he understands I need to do what I do, so he quelled his excitement and just texts his mom a lot nowadays.

Family drama, I guess, would always be a part of our lives. I think without it we would all have expired from boredom by now. So make the most of it, right? That’s what we try to do.
