We’re Drawing Pad Crazy!

We discovered Svet’s love for drawing when she started to draw at our walls back in the old house. Yeah, what a painful way to discover her interest, no? Hee hee. But that’s okay. At least we found out where her interests lie, and proceeded to buy her tons of drawing pads, colors and pencils. I really wanted to take a picture for this post, but as usual, she’s hogging them all right now, talking as she draws.

Her favorite subject at the moment are alien-like creatures, which (forgive an incoming Mom Pride attack) she draws perfectly. Considering she’s two years old. She knows how to draw all the parts of the face, and especially refuses to leave out the ears, no matter how many times we say to her that it’s okay, some aliens don’t have ears. She is still working on the arms and legs, though. Usually it’s just sticks for those parts.

Some people dream for their child to be an artist, or a teacher, or a doctor. Me? I just want her to do whatever she is happy doing. My mom let me be while I was growing up, and I think I turned out okay, so I am following her footsteps and let Svet do what makes her heart happy. I will just always be at her side to guide her as she makes her journey in this world. I’m really just thankful that she seems to have gotten her dad’s skill at drawing, because I suck royally at it. And that’s just putting it mildly. LOL.
