Will IE9 Finally Keep Up?

The public beta version of Internet Explorer 9 was released this week, and a lot of users who are still loyal to the browser and/or curious to see how much it has improved from IE8 have already downloaded a copy for testing. And no, I am not one of them. I have crossed out Internet Explorer as a browser I could use a very long time ago, although I will certainly download the official release (which is still some months off) if only for purposes of blog design cross-browser testing.

Of course, knowing Microsoft, I already expected the browser to not have support for Windows XP. There are still a lot of XP users around the world, especially here in the Philippines where it takes people such a loooong time to migrate to a new operating system, so the exclusion will mean two things for IE fans who run XP on their machines: install a new OS (too much hassle) or never use IE again. Obviously, I’d go for the latter. Microsoft still has a lot to go in order to catch up with what Firefox and Chrome has already managed to achieve, even with the release of this newest IE version.

Have you tried Internet Explorer 9 yet? Or do you even have any plans of trying it out? LOL. Sorry. Huge Firefox fan here.
