Your Account Has Been Temporarily Limited

BEWARE of emails with the same title, supposedly from PayPal. Fortunately, Gmail (where I received the notification) properly tagged it as SPAM, but that may not be the case with Yahoo Mail (as anyone probably knows, they do not have a good spam protection feature in place). Always, always look at the address where the email came from. In my case, the email came from PayPal@intl-updates.com. Not Paypal.com, which should be the case if it’s indeed an official PayPal email. The email stated:

Dear customer,

Your account has been temporarily limited.

Download and fill out the form to resolve the problem.

Thank You.

If it was an official email from PayPal, they would have stated the reason for limiting my account right? Trust spammers to overlook that obvious detail. Here’s a screen shot of the form that I was supposed to fill up to “resolve” my limited account:

The form even has links to the PayPal website to make it look authentic! I really feel sorry for people who fall for this scam, giving away their personal details, SSN and credit card number to some random scammer who deserves to be put to jail for the rest of his/her life. Always be careful who you give your personal details to, people. At this day and age, it always pays to be observant and wary.
