Christmas Gift For The Little One

I’ve stopped thinking of buying stuff for myself ever since I became a mom. I don’t know if that’s even good, but all I know is that it seems criminal to spend on myself when I can spend it on the piglet. So instead of planning to buy a pair of boots for myself this Christmas, I’m wondering what gift I can give to Svet.

The other day, we were at National Bookstore and she just keeps coming back to this expensive Dora the Explorer book which I don’t have the budget for at the time, so there’s an idea. We bought her Dora flash cards that day instead, which was six times cheaper. She didn’t seem to mind that we were not able to buy her the other Dora book with the way she was hugging the box of flash cards all the way to the cashier.

You should have seen her face when she and Paulie browsed some of the pages of the book. I wanted to buy it right then and there for her and ignore our budget. One of the things I hate about being the sole breadwinner. Oh well she has to make do with the flash cards for now. I hope to buy for her this week the bigger gift I’ve been saving up for a month now. I know she’ll be pleased with it. I’ll just keep the Dora book in mind and buy that for later.
