Made For Cold

I realize every time we go here to Bulacan that I am not used to the hot, sticky weather anymore, not after living in our city for more than two years where it’s always 10 degrees colder than the rest of the country. I may get used to the heat again after I while, but I know that there is a better weather waiting for me just eight hours away, and I prefer it so much more over the energy-draining heat. The pollution is so much worse here, too, and I am missing the crisp, clean air of Baguio already.

I guess not a lot of people can understand my insistence to stay at Baguio and make it my home for life. I don’t, after all, got a lot of friends here. Plus almost all our relatives do not live here. This is not the place, as they say, that gets a lot of action. But when I first saw the city, I fell in love. And that hasn’t changed, nor will it ever. I will not trade living in this cold city for anything else in the world. I know that I am in my element here, and this is where me and my family belong now.
