Climbing is my daughter Svet’s favorite sport at the moment. Come to think of it, it has been ever since she was steady on her feet enough to climb. Unfortunately, the house we are renting at the moment has a second floor, and any floors other than one would mean stairs. She would live on it if we let her, methinks. Her days, well our days, to be exact, are spent fetching her from it lest she falls down head first. And no, the stair gate we have does not prevent her at all. She would climb on the side of the stairs just so she can go up the house.
She’s a monkey, that baby. She climbs on the back of our sofa just for the heck of it, she climbs on chairs so she can get things that are beyond her reach (and she’s not supposed to play with), she climbs on the windows for no reason at all, and she climbs on the TV rack to annoy her cousin Elijah. I suspect she would even climb to get to the medicine cabinets, if we had any. She likes to tinker with stuff, and that we have a lot of upstairs. The locks on the doors upstairs does not prevent her from coming up either. I guess she’s just addicted to going up and down the stairs. Or climbing, particularly. She’ll become a great rock climber when she grows older, with the amount of practice that she has now.

I know how it feels, Mommy Kaye. Ayex also climbs the stairs when we are in Las Pinas because our house here in QC is a bungalow type.
