My sister Phoebe’s birthday is on Sunday, and since we have been planning to go to the beach for the longest time now (like two years? LOL), we decided that it’s high time we actually went as planned. It was my daughter Svet’s and my nephew Elijah’s first time to swim on the beach, so it was a pretty exciting (and exhausting!) day for them and for the rest of us who had no choice but to be at par with their energy level. Holiday lets and cottages in the area are unsurprisingly mostly vacant when we went there today,so we basically had the beach all to ourselves. Well, us and the bunch of people who live nearby.
It was a bit chilly because the sky was downcast earlier in the morning, the type of weather that makes you wish you were in one of those sunny Florida villas. Although that did not deter the two kids from begging us to stay in the water even if their teeth were already chattering and their lips were blue. I only managed to get Svet out of the water when it was raining and I told her we should come out if she doesn’t want us to get wet from the rain. LOL. For all their seemingly advanced state of minds nowadays, you can still easily fool two year old kids.
We went home mid-afternoon, during which time the sun decided to came out. Perfect timing for a bit of picture-taking before we leave. We didn’t really mind that it came out too late, because our skins were not as burned as it would have been if the sun appeared bright in the morning. We decided that we should go to another beach this year, to treat the kids again, because they obviously love water and they can’t get enough of it. They had the time of their lives on the beach (which, by the way, was in Bauang, La Union), and the rest of us enjoyed the day thoroughly as well (albeit really tiring).
