That’s the name of my other sister, the one who’s a year younger than I am. She gave birth a year earlier than I did, and made a home far away from us as soon as she found out she was pregnant. It wasn’t really a happy time, learning that she’s finally leaving us to live together with her then-boyfriend now-husband Joey. She’s the first in the family to leave, so we were sad. Added to that is the fact that she rarely visits, and even if we also go to visit her, we still feel the loss of her presence around the house.
Now that me and my sister Ayie live in Baguio, and my sister Rikka lives several cities away, we hardly see each other. So imagine how much we miss each other and how much we talk about stuff when we do get to see each other sometimes. Just this last trip down to Manila, I made sure I allotted one night to stay at Rikka’s home in Caloocan so we can catch up. She is very conscious with her weight right now, so weight loss pills for women are always brought into the conversation.
Of course, she misses Svet and Elijah as much as I miss Hendrix (her son), so we talked a lot about our children too. They have plans of going here for Svet’s birthday on May, and I hope those plans will push through. I really would like to spend more time with them, and I bet my sister Ayie misses them as well. It’s always fun to see the three cousins play (and fight as well, of course) together, even if it’s just once in a blue moon.
