I had a blast last weekend. We celebrated my birthday last Saturday with the family (my mom, stepdad and sister were here) but we didn’t go out. We did nothing but eat and eat all day long. My sister Ayie brought home palabok and pizza for us and mom brought something for the grill party. It was food trip at its best.
They left the very next day because mom has a lot of things to do, being the newly elected president of their employees’ organization. It sucks that they can’t stay for very long, but they promised to be here again in time for my nephew Elijah’s birthday. We were still left tons of of food in the table and we don’t know what to do with it. My sister and I are teasing each other about using fat burners that work effectively, what with the amount we’ve eaten during the weekend.
Birthdays make me reflect about what I want to accomplish in life. Maybe this will be the year that I start taking some online cooking classes! I can cook a bit, but Paulie’s getting better at it everyday, and I don’t want to be left behind.
I look forward to my family’s next visit because I know that not only there will be a flood of food again (we always have that during get together occasions), they will also be staying a bit longer.
