I’ve been working from home for more than five years, and I have gone from office girl chic to work at home mom shabby. Working from home in my pajamas has its perks, sure. But my fashion sense is slowly going down the toilet as my career as a WAHM progresses. I knew things have reached a sad state when I have to Google, Google for crying out loud, what top goes best with what bottom.
As I have little to no need for a lot of presentable clothes anymore, buying new clothes for me has become less and less frequent. As a case in point, I haven’t bought a single new article of clothing for myself this year so far. I will probably buy a couple of shorts and a top this month, as is customary for me, but other than that? Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Come to think of it, online shopping has been kind of my savior. Without it, I’d probably have regressed to my high school attire: really huge pants and really huge tees. I shudder just thinking about it. I browse several online shops every now and then just to see what the kids are raving about these days when it comes to fashion. The kids. Never thought I’d say that.

Maybe I’ll do better fashion-wise next year, maybe I won’t. The yearning is present, but the motivation is just not enough. I might need more inspiration. Time to find my next fashion idol.
