We don’t always let Svet out whenever she wants to. The terrain here is not the same as in Manila, and there is always a danger of her falling over a precipice (albeit mostly shallow) if left unattended. We don’t have sturdy gates to keep her inside the front lawn, thus our added concern.
However, as she grows up, she wants to spend more and more time outside the house, even if it’s just outside the door. She can even already turn the door handles by herself. It’s a good thing the door hinge is a bit creaky, otherwise we wouldn’t know that she already took the liberty of letting herself out. Now why does she want to always go outside?
She likes playing with the dogs, especially, and looking at the chicken and chicks we are raising at the moment. She also likes to scream at children playing nearby, as if summoning them to come near and play with her. I know it’s just natural for a child to experience a longing for the outside world, so as much as possible, we allow her to go out while we look closely after her. I just hope that when she learns to speak clearly, she will also learn to express her desire to play outside, and not just sneak out like she does now.

its okay to let the kids out, my main concern for Pia is the cats. A cat already scratched Pia’s eyes before, good thing no damage done. For pia though, she loves cats so much, she still wants to own one.
