The rainy days are already upon us. It has in fact, been raining everyday for two weeks now, and while I do not like the extra cold that it brings this time of the year, I take comfort in the fact that we live in a safe place away from possible landslides (a common problem in most towns in our part of the country), that we have water everyday (compared to when water was scarce during summer), and that we have a house with a solid roof to shelter us comfortably from the constant rain.
We have been living here for two years since we moved here to the city, and the rainy season has never been a source of problem for us because of the ideal spot of our home, added to the pretty sturdy materials used to build it. We do not own the house, we just rent it, but we treat it like it is ours already, and have come to love it like our own.
I don’t know of any other place in the city where we can feel as safe as when we are here, and although our stay here won’t be forever, I’m glad for the time we lived here and for the peace of mind that this house brought us, especially during these rainy times.
