Books, Books, Books

Ever since I got here in Bulacan for the two-week vacation, I’ve done nothing but read books on my spare time. My cousin Karla has tons of them, and it’s fortunate that we have the same taste in books (read: chick lit and suspense), so I have my fill every time I am doing nothing (which is most of the time, by the way). To date I’ve already read for books (In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner, The Patient by Michael Palmer, Digital Fortress by Dan Brown and The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd).

I’m planning to read the four books in the Twilight series (yes, believe it or not, I haven’t had the interest until I watched the movie some time ago), but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish all four before we head home for Baguio on the 25th. Karla is asking us to stay until her sisters come home here for a vacation from London, but it is still to be decided (if I can be parted from my dear desktop and even dearer Baguio climate for several days longer), so I’m still not sure about finishing Meyer’s books. I know ipods can read e-books on the go, but since I don’t have any of those, I either have to finish everything by the 25th (or later, depending on what I decide on) or continue reading from my desktop the Meyer e-books that have been sitting in there for so long.

  1. I read all four Twilight books in four days. One per day. My daughter and nieces kept telling me I “HAD” to read them and I kept saying but I don’t like vampire stories. So I read the first two my daughter had brought for me. She lives an hour away so I bought three and on that Saturday the fourth came out so I bought it too! They were very good. WAY better than the movie (as most books are).

Now, over the last couple months they have been telling me I have to read The Black Dagger Brotherhood books by JW Ward… once again, vampire stories. I kept saying no… I am now in the middle of book two and more than likely will not sleep tonight until I finish it. There are 8 in that series I believe.

I don’t know if I should listen to the girls sooner… or not at all..it messes with my sleep patterns when I can’t put a book down.
