Making The Internet Work For You

Lost seems to be a pretty accurate description of my perpetual state. LOL. Besides being a scatterbrain, I am also geographically challenged. Pathetic right? But on the internet I rarely lose my way. Why, Google is my best friend. Tee hee. I find everything I need to know with just a few keystrokes. Heck, even things I don’t need to know. Haha! Which is why I am forever awed at its power and the benefits that it can extend to businessmen, consumers and just about any user.

For businessmen, the Yellow Pages proves to be an invaluable resource to get the word out. What with the plethora of people already with access to the Internet, using this medium as an advertising vehicle is more and more seen as a cheap and effective way to market one’s products. Although not yet prevalent in our country, I think it’s the next big and logical step for local businesses.

A local business directory, on the other hand, is what a consumer like me needs to be armed with in order to find the best deals on the web. We are, after all, looking for ways to save and what better way than to compare products and services in the comforts of your own home? Rather than elbowing strangers in the local store and being stuck in traffic forever, I guess most of us would rather search online for local businesses.

So yes. I thought I would forever be hopelessly lost, but the Internet has (one again) proven me wrong. In order to make the internet work for you, one just needs to know the right keywords, whether a consumer or a business owner.
