My Little Guitarist

I bought Svet a little guitar (the cheap kind) earlier this month. We were having our cellphone case changed and the shop was surrounded by stores selling netbooks and immediately beside it is this store we sometimes go to for cheap house stuff (Bon Chic (the Maharlika Livelihood Complex branch) is the name of the store, for the curious). Svet kept bugging me “punta tayo dun!” (let’s go there) while using her lips (nguso) to point to the store. I couldn’t stand a scandal that day (LOL) because we were already tired from too much walking around. We came all the way from SM with a toddler in tow. Sheesh.

So I gave in to her (like we usually do, yes. I’m beginning to think we’ve spoiled her already) and walked inside the store with her on the lead. Gosh, she already knew where to go! To the toys section! She was rooting for a doll (which I know will only be torn in half the moment we come home) but I saw a guitar which costs only a dollar. So I showed it to her instead and just when it looks like she will insist on buying both, she handed me the doll to return to its place. Good. No argument. Very rare.

Thankfully, it’s still somewhat usable up to now. Whenever she sings (which is almost all of the time), she would get her guitar and strum it like her dad taught her. Soo cute, I tell you. I am still not able to get a video since as soon as she sees a camera, she will strike a pose and forget her guitar-playing. Don’t ask me where did she get that idea that you’re supposed to pose in front of the camera. Sheesh. I’m going to have to take a video without her knowing.
