What You Don’t Know About Being A WAHM

Watch out! Crazy rant ahead!

I’m just sick and tired of people who think I have it easy, because I work from home. They think I have a lot of money, because I earn in dollars. They even think earning online is the easiest thing in the world to do, that I just sit in front of the computer day in and day out, and cash just pours into my bank account continuously. They think it’s like being retired and that I must be the luckiest person in the world to hold such a job.

Well I’ll tell you what, you ignorant bastards. Being a WAHM ain’t easy. It’s doubly harder being a WAHM than having a normal job. Daily, you are subject to this environment that constantly ruins your momentum (because of the kid/s, the husband, the housework, the everything). You don’t work, then you don’t get paid. Well, at least for most of us who haven’t found the secret to getting huge passive income. You don’t get bonuses and allowances (Christmas, 13th month, mid-year, productivity, clothing and what have you). You don’t have a boss, but you get your fair share of interaction with frustratingly stupid/abusive people online and offline. On top of that, you have to work twice more to prove yourself to these people, that you can do the job.

I’m sorry to discourage people to are planning to become WAHMs (work at home moms) and WAHDs (work at home dads) out there, but the decision to become one requires  a lot of unbelievable determination and patience and sacrifice and, well, a lot of other things. If you are used to having it easy at work, you won’t survive a day in this field. I’m not saying I don’t recommend people to work from home. I do, in fact. But you don’t make that decision and expect it to be child’s play. And please don’t tell me I have it easy when you don’t frigging know what you’re talking about.

Do you wonder why there are a few WAHMs and WAHDs when compared to normal 9-5 workers? This is a great opportunity to be had, but this isn’t the easiest job to hold in the world either. If this was the no-brainer job that you thought it was, don’t you think we’d all be working from home by now?

But still, I’m a WAHMaholic. Yeah, go figure. Obviously I am seriously masochistic.
