Back Pain

No, not me. Not today, at least. I am referring to my sister Ayie who has been complaining of back pains since she started her DMPA shots half a year ago. She already knew of the consequences of her chosen method of family planning, but she was not prepared for the reality of the pains. We are currently searching for ways to increase calcium intake other than her drinking milk more often than she used to.

I’ve told my sister that it’s not advisable to have DMPA shots for more than two years, so while researching for calcium sources, we also find out what is the next best method for her. She is in fact already contemplating not to have DMPA after the three month period of effectiveness lapses, but has so far not decided on which to switch on. Whatever she decides on, I know I will support her decision.
