I remember when I was in college and have to travel a minimum of four hours daily just to get to the university where I was enrolled. I have to go through air pollution, traffic jams, reckless drivers, the risk of being a victim of bad guys posing as passengers, hold-uppers,etc on a daily basis. It was this exposure that made my mom realize the importance of being insured to make sure that if anything bad happens, we are both secured and protected somehow.
In these hard times, we have to be protected in any way. By securing financial stability through insurance enrollment does not mean we are praying for accidents or misfortunes to happen but to make sure that in the event that it does happen, we have something to fall back on. We proved this right when I got really sick during college. My mom’s Philhealth was a great help when I was hospitalized. We got a big discount at the hospital, even with the medication.
