Who doesn’t want them, really? What with today’s economy, who’d want to buy at full price when there are coupon codes abound? We’re not just being misers here. We’re being thrift. Now there’s a great word. And yes. I’m talking about bargains for the bare necessity: a computer. What? You think I’m talking about food? Or clothing? No, of course not, silly. A computer is the basic necessity. Well, okay, at least for me. Being a work at home mom and all, and with plans to let the hubby (hereby referred to as Paulie), we are in dire need of a second computer. Not to mention that it has to be a brand new second computer (the current one would not be out of place in Jurassic Park).
But requiring that it should be brand new does not mean I’m more than happy to pay full price. I mean, that’s what nifty online coupon sites are for, right? To collect in one handy place all the coupons that we would ever need for our online purchases. It’s like a Disneyland for the tech geeks, yet so, so much more. Being an mTurk worker as well, I get the choice of converting my earnings to Amazon gift certificates, which used to be such a downer for me because naturally, I’d want cold hard cash. But when I discovered that yes, I can actually make money by selling what I purchase off Amazon through my GCs, I am an instant convert.
Paulie’s been raving about Dells (especially the Studio desktop line) ever since he saw this gorgeous Studio at a local store which has a not-so-gorgeous price tag attached to it. We immediately decided that the purchase will definitely be online, when we saw a couple of Dell Studio coupons for Amazon. No scratch that. We didn’t see just a couple. We ogled at TONS of them for about half an hour and Paulie was already making a list from there. Talk about a great way to pass the time, eh?
