I’m All White, Baby.

I was getting tired of my XP looking like an XP, so I looked around for MAC OSX themes that will bring out the MAC in my XP. Tee hee. So what once was all black is now all white  . Admittedly, what little transformation that has been done will never compare to “the real MACcoy”. Hah. I’m so great with words  . Anyways, the first step was to find an XP theme that imitates a MAC visually. So I found this OSX Tiger V Visual Style from Deviant Art. I swear your head will positively :dazed2: from the gorgeous and creative artworks stored in that site :star: . Here’s a screencap:

The explorer buttons I also had to change. Styler Toolbar did the trick, and all I had to do was find a set that looks like those on a MAC. And that I did find, yet again, at Deviant Art. This one is from Dominic  , and he is just the most supportive artist on DA that I know (because he answers my emails and acts like he’s all concerned about my issues). Just a tip when using Styler Toolbar, though :warning: . When I first used it, it messed up parts of my install windows, my shutdown window and my Yahoo Messenger log in window. Quick solution? Open the Styler Toolbar from your System Tray (click show), navigate to the Info tab and check StylerTB Mode. That’s it 🙂 .

I also used an Icon pack which changed most of my Windows Icons into those resembling Mac Icons, and the pack can be downloaded here. And yes, they’re from Deviant Art again 😎 . Now on to the browser skin. I use Google Chrome most of the time now, so I needed to change that too. I used AndrewYY’s Milk Theme for Chrome which can be downloaded here (yes. Deviant Art.). I sometimes use Firefox, so I decided to change its theme as well with this. I NEVER use IE, except to check how my blogs look in that particular browser. And besides, they don’t allow for skinning, so that sucks big time  . Anyway, here are my Firefox and Chrome screen shots:

Naturally, I also had to change my wallpaper. So next I did was look for was a white minimalistic wallpaper. Check out my wallpaper from, you guessed it right, Deviant Art. I found it funny :cute: , so I picked it from the list that resulted from my query.

It looks awful here because the background is white but you’ll love it once you see it yourself. The logon and the boot screen came last in the list that needed to be customized. I got the MAC OS Smoke White Logon from here and the boot screen I created with Tune Up Styler (it’s a feature of TuneUp Utilities 2009) using a wallpaper from here. Screencaps are below:

And voila! XP a la MAC. It should be noted though, that no amount of tweaking can make one operating system look like another. You all ask, why not just buy a Macintosh? Budget’s tight, see :sheepish: . Unless you want to start the ball rolling and donate to my PayPal for purchasing one. Hee hee  . Buh-bye for now. I’m off doing a button for Clarrise of Wonder Wifey :stars: .
