Pimp My Ride

Well, obviously not my ride as we don’t own one (if there’s anything that needs pimping around this house, it’s my hair). Have you seen even a single episode of this MTV show? Even if I am not interested in cars at all, I always find myself watching it whenever I come across it on TV.

Imagine turning a car from a very dilapidated state into something worth bragging to everyone (even strangers) about. I am always left in awe at how Xzibit (the main guy on the show) and the other guys do it. Makes me want to wish I can understand half of what they’re saying when they’re talking shop. Heck I didn’t even know about lambo doors at all until I saw it on Pimp My Ride. I seriously thought those doors are the traditional ones that can be found in front of every home. Didn’t I just tell you I was clueless about cars?

What I like most about the whole transformation is the extensive customization that comes with it. I can relate because it’s like taking a default blog theme and making huge modifications on it so that it looks nothing like just another free blog theme. With the Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) guys (previously the West Coast Customs (WCC) guys until the owner of WCC refused to become part of the show), you never know what to expect, and more often than not, it’s mind-blowingly unexpected.

If you haven’t seen a single episode, you just have to see the look on the car owners’ faces when they come face-to-face with the brand-spanking new look of their vehicles. I don’t know if it’s just part of the show’s gimmicks, but their expressions to me seem genuine, and seeing other people happy like that somehow brings happiness to me too. Plus the show’s funny, so you really got to catch an episode if you haven’t already.
