First Day Out

The day after we went home, I decided to bring the kids (Svet, my nephew Elijah and my youngest sister Lexene) out. We slightly experienced traffic on the way, what with the huge truck stopping dead in the middle of the road, good thing the towing people came around fast.

Svet missed running at the park, so went there after eating out and buying a couple of daisy dukes. I’ve been planning for so long to buy new ones, but I hate the recent purchases because when we came home and I decided to wear it, it won’t fit me. I had no choice but to hand it over to the more than willing hands of Ayie). I guess it’s true that I’ve put on additional weight. I didn’t want to believe people saying that to me, because I didn’t feel heavier, but I guess two weeks of doing nothing while eating a lot can take a toll even on a high metabolism freak like me.

So Svet was really excited when we got to the park. She started running around like crazy, and bounced up and down like there was no tomorrow on the giant inflatables that Lexene led us to. They wanted boating, too, but Ayie and I firmly said no. Not one of us know how to swim, and I don’t want to risk it, even if the lake is not that deep.

We just went to the playground (which is free, whew) and we stayed there long enough for the kids to almost pass out from exhaustion. This is one of the things I also miss being here. You can have a day out and not mind the weather at all, because it’s so tourist-friendly. I wish I can say the same of Manila. *sigh*
