The Piggy Bank

I bought a red piggy bank a while back, brought about by last month’s theme of Girls Talk. Paulie and I decided to save Php10 coins in it, with the hopes of filling it before the year ends and buying something with what we will be able to save. We’re still not sure what, but I’m certain we’ll decide as the bank fills. We also thought it’s not too early to teach Svet the value of saving money, so when we have coins to drop in the piggy. She calls the coins “hundwed”, and no, I didn’t teach her that.

The problem is, when she finds just about any change, she drops them into the coin bank and I will be too late to catch it. As a result, there are already numerous bits of change inside the piggy bank, thus, what we expected to get in the end would not be as large. I bet on the off chance that she finds loose diamonds lying around the house, she will waste no time to put it inside the coin receptacle.

But I guess this is a good thing, her learning how to save, even though she still has to learn not to put everything inside. I will try to teach her that, so good luck to me.
