The Wind Is Never Weary

The constant rain every afternoon here in our city reminded me of a couple of lines from a Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem:

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary
It rains, and the wind is never weary;

It’s a pain trying to dry clothes during this weather, and I can only imagine the hardship that working people go through during this time of the year, trying to keep their office clothes shoes reasonably dry while battling the rain.

It’s a great time to bring out those cute sweaters and knee-high boots, though, so I know fashionistas take advantage of the season to the fullest. It does help to look chic while the rest of the world looks dreary, don’t you think?

  1. Drying clothes during rainy weather, that is also what I was trying to do last week, when it was raining non-stop here in Slovakia, too. Sigh.
