Sqwishland Review & Giveaway

If you have little kids, most probably they are already exposed to the wonders of the Internet and do a lot of stuff online, including playing games. Svet has just discovered YouTube, and would spend hours watching (get ready for this) cake-making videos. Kids. In a couple of months I bet she is going to start to play online games, too. So this early, I have been looking for child friendly browsers and sites which I could let Svet visit when she finally gets tired of the YouTube videos and starts playing online games. Which is why I’m glad I discovered Sqwishland.com. In case you haven’t heard of it yet:

Sqwishland is an online virtual world that allows children to create their own personal avatar, explore the world, safely meet new kids across the world, take care of their own pet Sqwishlander, and engage in an endless amount of quests.

Kids can acquire in-game currency, Sqwash, by obtaining membership, purchasing them separately, or becoming a frequent visitor to Sqwishland. Acquiring Sqwash can enable them to purchase costumes for their avatar, feed and care for their pet Sqwishlanders, play exclusive games, and even buy themselves some scuba gear to take a plunge into Sqwishland’s deep blue sea!

I signed up an account for Svet a couple of days back, and with the help of the six-pack tube I received in the mail from Sqwishland, Svet was able to access all the premium features of the site. Here’s what we think of Sqwishland.com:

The sign up was a pretty painless process. Just several details were asked and we were ready to play! The site is very easy to navigate, although the first time we got there I was overwhelmed by the tons of options available. We found our way quickly enough, and I went wherever Svet points her fingers at. We got our own home, and is excited to decorate it with furniture and stuff using the sqwash (Sqwishland currency).

Soon we were exploring Sqwishland and playing all the fun mini-games we could find. There were several friend requests that popped up while we were playing, and we accepted everyone. The ability to chat with other kids inside Sqwishland is really fun, and I hope that when Svet is old enough to understand typed conversations, she will enjoy this feature of the site as well. Since Svet is only two years old, I guided her all throughout our playing time.

We both enjoyed Sqwishland very much, and bonded over the time we spent there. I realized it’s never too early to play with Sqwishland virtual pets, and can in fact make a parent/child relationship closer by playing together. We are currently addicted, and look forward to every session of playing together with much anticipation!

Svet also had fun with the six fun pencil toppers that came in all of the 6 balls which also contains six Sqwishcodes for use on the site (first code I entered gave us a 30-day free premium membership, and all the succeeding codes gave us 250 sqwash each). We got two sqwowfishes (one regular and one ultra rare), a sqwear, a sqwarrot, a sqwanda and Svet’s favorite, a rare sqwownfish (which she aptly named Nemo)!  The pet Sqwishlander that we bought in the site, is of course a rare sqwownfish.
