When I first started blogging, I never thought I’d ever be part of a blogging community like the Pinay Mommies Community (PMC). I’m a pretty reclusive person, both online and offline. But being with a lot of fellow moms who understand and can relate to what I do online for a living is a breath of fresh air. From the group I came to know a lot of mommies I respect and admire, and I have been dying to meet them ever since.
I wasn’t at the first grand eyeball (EB) when took place because I was in Baguio that time, but I made sure that I am part of the second one so I cleared my schedule and down the mountains I went to attend the event. It was a rainy day last November 22, but that didn’t stop forty-eight Pinay mommies from gracing the EB and taking part in all the fun and the laughter of the occasion.
We came in a bit late at the venue (Aling Tonya’s Seafood Restaurant) because I lost my phone at Pehpot‘s house (which turned up later in the venue inside a box of Scotch-Brites. LOL), but we were still one of the first few people there. Peh had to rent a van because of the amount of stuff that the event’s über generous sponsors gave especially for the PMC moms. The attendees started to arrived and I was flabbergasted at how many of us were actually there, all in one place, finally being able to put pretty faces into the names behind the blogs and FB group that we daily interact in.
Ning and Cielo were the emcees at the event, and there was never a dull moment. They are two of the funniest PMC members I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, and they really made the event extra fun.
As soon as our beloved PMC founder Mommy Rubz arrived from her flight, she gave a short speech relating how the Pinay Mommies Community started. She gave a second speech a bit later into the program relating the brainchild of PMC, which is PR Moms Network, designed by yours truly. It is yet another great idea from the PMC leader which we all hope to flourish in the near future, for the benefit of all the moms in our community.
There was laughter and a lot of talking among the moms, it is evident how excited we all are about meeting each other, some for the very first time. To add to the fun of the EB, there was also a photo booth sponsored by Mommy Iris Acosta of KrazyPix, which not only entertained the kids, but the moms as well.
The loot bags from our big-time sponsors were given throughout the event, and is one of the reasons why everyone went home with a lot of useful stuff in their bags. This event would not have been half as successful if not for our goodhearted sponsors who made a lot of mommy bloggers that day. As such I would like to take this post to thank our major and minor sponsors for everything they contributed to the realization of this EB. Our beloved major sponsors are:
Unilab, for their Ceelin and Dolan brands. They are two of the brands I trust the most for my Svet’s health ever since, and is also the brand most favored by moms like me. Unilab generously provided each and every PMC mom with a loot bag containing a 500mL bottle of Ascorbic Acid Ceelin, Rashfree, Enervon Multivatimins, Loperamide Diatabs, Dolan FP for kids, a tumbler (which my kid loves to use!), a pencil case and a pencil.
Smart Steps, my new favorite baby care brand! Their baby laundry detergent is a revelation, me and my daughter just love the fresh scent of her clothes even after hours of playing! Each mom got their share of Smart Steps Baby Fabric Conditioner, Smart Steps Baby Bottle Cleanser, Smart Steps Baby Laundry Detergents, Holy Seat Disposable Toilet Seat Cover and Holy Seat Hand Spray Toilet Seat Sanitizer.
Aside from the loot bags given by the major sponsors to each PMC mom, each major and minor sponsor also provided PMC with tons of delightful items which were raffled off to lucky participants. Everyone got a chance at winning extra prizes aside from their loot bags. Our minor sponsors are:
Other minor sponsors who made the event possible were Richwell, Grendha and Goldquest Biotechnologies. Richwell and Grendha each contributed items to be raffled off to several lucky moms, and Goldquest donated cash to be used for the event itself.
Adding up all the loot bags from the sponsors, the tokens from my fellow PMC moms as well as the items I won from the raffles, plus the special gifts I got from moms close to my heart, here is what I ended up carrying home. It was awesome, it was worth the travel and I would gladly do it all over again next year.
To say that all PMC moms enjoyed the event would be a gross understatement. The food was good, and the company was even better. I loved every minute of it, and I look forward to another chance to meeting all the beautiful mommy bloggers in the future. Beyond the money that we steadily earn from our blogs which help our respective families, it’s great to know that a lot of wonderful friendships have spawned from the Pinay Mommies Community.
May our community be stronger with every passing day, and may we continue helping each other grow not only into respectable and responsible bloggers, but also into the best moms that our families deserve. Vivat PMC!
