Fishing in Bulacan: Lagoon Kubo 1022 at Paombong

AN UNUSUAL DAY

We spent the afternoon of August 10 doing a not-so-common activity: fishing. I can’t remember the last time I went to a fishpond sa sobrang tagal na, tapos first time din ni P at nung bagets kaya pare-pareho kaming nag-enjoy at na-relax nung araw na yun. We went there at Ate Menchu’s invitation. She and Kuya Edmon own the place, and together with their family they operate Lagoon Kubo 1022 Picnic & Event Place with Fishing Activity located at Paombong, Bulacan.

The place was so serene, medyo malayo sila sa highway kaya bihira mong maririnig yung tunog ng sasakyan at fresh air lang ang malalanghap mo habang andun sa pwesto nila. Bihira yung ganitong experience kaya ninamnam talaga namin while we were there.

And the trip is worth it dahil pagdating mo dun very peaceful talaga at maitatanong mo sa sarili mo kung bakit hindi mo ‘to madalas ginagawa. Hihi.

The simpleness of the place pagpasok pa lang is very inviting. Tipong hindi ka mag-aalangan to let your hair down dahil bukod sa place, very warm din yung mga taong inabutan namin, especially Nanay Rose, who cooked for us her specialty dish. But more on that later.

The kubo itself has your all your basics: a spacious place for chairs and tables for eating and hanging out, a videoke machine kung trip mong kumanta kanta habang nagre-relax, and fans for when it’s hot out (although mahangin naman when we were there), set above the fishpond so there’s easy access for fishing.

I have a very short clip of that below:

After the feeding, they allowed us to fish so we can all experience it firsthand.

A video of everything they served us that day is below.

Kaya sobrang na-appreciate namin yung freshness nung seafood nila talaga ?

NOT JUST A FISHPOND

You can stay half a day or the whole day at Lagoon 1022, but you can also choose to sleep there overnight as they have two rooms for rent for families na gustong sulitin ang stay nila dun. You can also hold your special occasions here like birthdays, meetings, weddings, baptismals, workshops, reunions, get-togethers, religious assemblies and more. Only one occasion is allowed per day to maintain the renters’ privacy. If you’re planning to stay overnight, here’s a quick video of one of their rooms.

It should be noted na hindi lang din events place ang Lagoon 1022. They also raise gamecocks in there as well, which they call LagoonManukan. Kuya Edmon is a cockfighting aficionado, thus that side of the business.

They also rent their speedboat and banana boat, for the more adventurous types who want to go out and roam the nearby waters. You can ask for them to cook your food, or you can cook your food yourself with a minimal kitchen charge.

They also have hookahs which you can rent during your stay there.

You can refer to the flyers below for a full list of their services and their prices. If you have any questions, feel free to call the numbers/email the address on the flyer.

Syempre hindi mawawala ang groufie with the people sa Lagoon 1022, kasama si Ate Menchu, si Nanay Rose, Kuya Edmon at lahat ng mga mababait na taong nag-welcome sa amin dun. They made us not only feel welcome, but a part of their family. It’s an experience I don’t mind repeating at least once a year, and next time isasama ko naman ang buong family kasi syempre, the more the merrier ?
