After a very filling lunch at Prasada, we went straight to this relatively new body and skin care place in Baliuag for another review. Let me tell you, having two Facebook pages and zero memory retention result in surprise appointments. I really thought I already confirmed our visit, when in fact I didn’t. D’oh! I was so flustered that even when the lovely and gracious owner Donna Santos assured us that it was okay, I still felt bad that we bumped her other appointments to later 😕
But as soon as we stepped foot inside the place, parang all my worries gradually dissipated. The very calming music and smells combined with the quiet classiness of the interior helped a lot. Dagdagan pa when we sank into their comfortable chairs for our mani-pedi. Ang sarap pala magpa-mani-pedi after a heavy lunch no? Parang ang sarap matulog 😀
RELAX RELAX
Look, I’m going to say it upfront. The pictures I took do not do Luminere’s place any justice because it’s so much lovelier in person. All the little details that were lovingly included in the design made the place all the more relaxing and welcoming. Stylish and approachable, that’s a rare combination I think. When I think of stylish places I’m often intimidated, but not here. The owner couple Donna and Eric were the ones who designed the place, and naloka kami sa dami naming interior design pegs.
Beri beri susyal di ba. Kahit dark yung furnishings at accents, napakagaan at very zen pa rin yung dating kasi they paired it with pretty, bright, custom-made lights everywhere. It’s high-contrast interior design done beautifully, with the end goal of clients leaving relaxed, brightened and illuminated both physically and mentally.
Kahit yung hallway sa second floor well-lit. Nakakatuwa makita yung mga maliliit na detalye na pinaghirapang buuin to make your experience at Luminere extra special. They certainly broke the mold with Luminere, they’re so not your typical Asian-esque beauty and wellness spot. Nothing wrong with those ha, mind you. But I feel like they’re so overdone already, almost all na lang ganun.
Napaka-romantic din ng set-up ng couples massage room nila. It’s usually a side-by-side layout but here you don’t have to tilt your head to whisper to your LO kasi your faces are close to each other naman. Honestly, P and I haven’t tried this type of bonding activity ever, with him having not-so-good massage results before and me being, well, me. Being an introvert, my hamster ball of personal space has always prevented me from seeking relaxation in the form of a massage. But having been assured that Luminere’s massage therapists have been well and properly trained to give customers the best massage experience, I’m actually considering going.
Not in a relationship? Okay lang yan, dun tayo sa single massage room. Same ambiance, very peaceful and all to yourself. Pero pag may jowa ka na lipat na tayo dun sa couples massage room para masaya.
Not only do they use facial treatment products from Paris, France to ensure visible results even after the first session, Luminere facials are also supervised by a registered nurse. Now that’s facial treatment done right!
Their foot spa includes soaking, filing, scrubbing, callous removal, foot mask and light massage. The foot mask is something most spas skip, but not Luminere. It’s an important step daw so your feet are soft and smooth.
Syempre hindi mawawala ang photo opp with the owner, Ms. Donna. Also in the picture is Ms. Megs, the business partner who is also the nurse supervising all facial treatments. Thank you so much for accommodating us!
VERDICT
We love the place, we love the people, we love their services. Talagang love love love lang all around. Will definitely come back for a facial. I have pores you can see from Jupiter, jusko. Sana maaya ko na rin si P magpa-massage. Together we’ll overcome our massage fears 😆
